Neil Daly

Neil DalyHello, My name is Neil I am 21 and a student at Sheffield Hallam University. I’m currently studying Animation and I’m just about to finish my second year. I have always loved to draw and be creative within the art and design subjects, so pursuing my abilities to higher education made me move to the city of Sheffield. I grew up in a small town in Nottinghamshire called Mansfield and this is where I learnt how much I loved the outdoors, as I was surrounded by the countryside and forests. In future events I want to finish my animation degree then onto my masters. When I have the correct qualifications I hope to get my first step onto my animation career ladder.

Job Title?
Events Instructor

When did you join Demon Wheelers?
I’ve been working for Demon Wheelers part time for just over a year now.

How did you come to work at Demon Wheelers?
Working in outdoor pursuits before, I wanted to get into the same type of work. Due to moving city it was difficult for me to keep up my past job. Therefore I online job searched for local business that where in the same type of industry. I came across Demon Wheelers and sent them my C.V, from then I have been working for the company ever since.

What is your favourite event?
The motorised activities are my most enjoyed event, instructing people on how to drive a hovercraft, rage buggy, quad and even a powerturn is not your average job. Such a rewarding role when people come off a vehicle laughing when they are covered in mud and still having a great time.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
As I am a student chilling out with friends after university is what most of us students do, however I also go to the gym and if I’m not there probably out at the pub catching up with old friends.

 What is your favourite film?
This is a really hard decision to make as I have many films I love. But picking only one it has to be ‘Step Brothers’.

Favourite drink?
My Non-Alcoholic drink has to be Monster Energy ‘Ripper’ as it wakes me up for them early morning starts with Demon Wheelers. But when I’m not working and out with friends a nice cold bottle of Budweiser would be great.

Favourite food?
My favourite dish has to be chicken wrapped up in bacon with a creamy cheese inside. Poured over this has to be a tangy BBQ sauce served with chips and onion rings.

 First CD/Album you ever bought?
My first ever CD I brought was Mcfly – Five Colours in her hair. It is embarrassing but I was only 12 at the time.

If you could meet one famous person either alive or dead who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Seth Macfarlane the creator of Family Guy. I believe he is an extremely talented man from a world-known animator to a professional singer. A true inspiration for a pursuing animator.

Favourite place you have visited

With Demon Wheelers I have travelled all over the UK and have been to some great places, but my favourite has to be when we went all the way down to the coast at Eastbourne. It was a red-hot day and at the end of the shift we had fish and chips on the sea front. Doesn’t get much better than that. Outside work has to be when I went to Portugal when I was younger, I will never forget the blue lagoon and how clear the water was. It was a long walk but was worth it as I have never seen the water so blue.

What is your best memory of working at Demon Wheelers?
My best memory at Demon Wheelers has to be my first day working, as I didn’t know what to expect. It turned out to be a four-hour drive away and I had the job to instruct on blind fold driving. After setting up, running the activity and packaging away we still had four-hours to drive back. It was a long day but one I will never forget, I realized what the job involved and I’ve never looked back since.

Anything else you would like to say?
Demon Wheelers is a great family ran company that I am privileged to be a part of, as they have welcomed me in with kind-heartedness and with a friendly manner. I have met some amazing people that have made working for the company a joy. I am looking forward to continue working with Demon Wheelers and see what else lies ahead.
