Where is Carlisle and how do we get there?
Carlisle is the largest city in Cumbria and is located towards its north. It is less than ten miles from the England-Scotland border and situated in an important place along the M6 which connects it to the south of England, Manchester and as far as Birmingham. The M6 also connects it north where it joins the A74(M)/M74 and carries onwards to Glasgow. To the east, Carlisle is connected by the A69 to Newcastle and the East Coast.

Carlisle does have its own airport, although the services from it are somewhat restricted. However, the nearby Newcastle airport has a much wider range of flights.

Carlisle Railway Station offers regular departures to London, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow as well as local services.
