The Overview:

Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s CEO turns 40!

The Brief:

To design and deliver an “African” themed party at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park for the CEO’s birthday celebrations.

The event will have around 500 guests and will be hosted in a large marquee on the grounds. There is already a band booked for the evening but the theming and dressing of the space needs to be delivered. Casino tables have been specifically requested to be part of the package.

As there is no sit down meal, careful attention must be shown to the energy of the night, ensuring guests always have something to do without seeming too contrived.

Wildfire Solution:

When you think of the plains of Africa, you think of stunning landscapes, sun beaten grasslands that are home to some of the most beautiful and exotic creatures on the planet. The old tribes of Africa have passed customs and music down through the generations, rarely writing it down but relying solely on the sharing of rhythms, dance and tonal instruments.

To reflect this, Wildfire initially developed bespoke packages of African themed props and theming, interactive areas, room décor and entertainment that will truly set the party alight. Paying particular attention to how the evening will be structured, including some entertainers that are highly proficient in gauging and commanding the energy of an event, so that all the guests will feel like they have stepped in to another world for one night only.

Wildfire provided the full evening of entertainment ranging from the dressing of the marquee, to the props, entertainment and games for the evening. The marquee was dressed in beautiful African colours which included the stunning gold table runners on a black table cloth, working in synergy with the chair covers and gold sashes. To add that special touch to the tables, our Bronze Candelabras lit up the room.

What’s an African theme without the sounds of Africa? We provided a 5 person drumming troupe with included the dress and theming, as well as drums for the guests to play along!

As you walked to the entrance of the event, you would be greeted by our Stilt Walking Zebras and Fire Dance Juggler. Taking in the beautiful sounds, with fire pits and wicker flame torches, and entering through a red draped entrance you were welcomed into an African paradise with some Giant African Masks, traditional foliage, and silhouette panels.

Guests were kept engaged throughout the night, not only with the amazing band and DJ set, but also our interactive entertainment such as Casino Tables and a themed Photobooth
